About Robert J. Flamini, MD

Robert J. Flamini, MD, brings over 25 years of experience in pediatric neurology and neurophysiology to PANDA Neurology & Atlanta Headache Specialists serving patients in and around metro Atlanta.

Dr. Flamini was born and raised in Colombia. He began his professional education at Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Flamini stayed in Cali and completed a pediatric residency.

After finishing his residency, Dr. Flamini moved to Boston and completed a visiting fellowship in pediatric neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. 

After completing his fellowship, Dr. Flamini moved to Wisconsin and participated in a neurological residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He subsequently completed two additional years of pediatric residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, where he earned the title of chief resident in his final year.

To further augment his education and skills, Dr. Flamini moved to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Epilepsy Branch, where he completed additional training in neurophysiology and clinical and surgical epilepsy. 

Dr. Flamini is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with a special qualification in child neurology. He also holds board certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Flamini is also a Fellow of the American Epilepsy Society thanks to his professional accomplishments and dedication to epilepsy. 

Since 1995, Dr. Flamini has practiced medicine in the Atlanta area. Until 2012, Dr. Flamini served as the Medical Director of the Children’s Epilepsy Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. He also served as Medical Director of the Tuberous Sclerosis Clinic. During the course of his career, Dr. Flamini also served on the board of the Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia and the board of directors of the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Dr. Flamini loves spending one-on-one time with his patients and providing high-quality child neurology care. He especially enjoys using his skills in the medical and surgical treatment of epilepsy and seizure disorders. Dr. Flamini’s commitment to patient care hasn’t gone unnoticed either.
